INSTITUTIONAL IDENTITY DESIGN - environmental design - marketing & Communication strategy

The Cobb Innovation & Technology Academy (CITA) is an innovative CTAE educational program in the Cobb County School District (GA). The program provides students with hands-on learning experiences and career opportunities in three distinct pillars: Maker Industries, Emerging Technologies, and Community and Healthcare Services.

Institutional Identity:
Before CITA opened its doors to welcome its first class of students, Dunson Design Co was tasked with developing a brand identity system and a strategic marketing plan to help launch this new magnet program.

The Cobb County School District wanted to ensure that the logo captured the elite nature of the academy and the 3 pathways available to its students.

To achieve this we developed a pillar and within the pillar placed 3 lines to represent the program pathways.

Marketing Plan:

When developing the marketing plan, we needed to ensure that we reached our intended audience, both students and their parents. Each required a uniquely targeted message. To ensure the intended message was received, we leveraged social media ads to target our identified audiences.

Brand Assets:

When developing a brand, it’s important to provide tangible assets for use in various applications. For CITA, that meant creating an acceptance packet that would be mailed to students committing to the school.

The results:

By the end of our marketing efforts, over 400 students applied to be a part of the inaugural class exceeding the initial request by 150 applicants!
